Victim/Client Advocate - General

Job Description:

At The Isabella Nasya Foundation Safe House of Hope and Resource Center, we desire to match each volunteer’s interest to their volunteer assignment. Volunteers work under the supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator and are cross trained on all positions in the center. Daily position assignments change with the needs of the center and our clients.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

This position requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills. It requires the ability to function both independently and as part of a team. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow-through on tasks and projects and the ability to manage multiple assignments. This position also requires flexibility to adapt and adjust to sudden changes in business needs and resources.

Job Requirements:

Energetic and positive attitude
Able to handle crisis situations.
Adapts well to change.
Reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a thorough background check and drug screen prior to formal employment offer.
Must have a clean MVR.

Desired Qualifications

Lived experience in historically and intentionally oppressed populations including, but not limited to, the communities served by The Isabella Nasya Foundation is strongly preferred but not required.
Fluency in a language in addition to English is beneficial.
Be familiar with available community resources.
Special skills or abilities that are applicable to program development.
Basic computer skills

Working Environment:

Professional, fast-paced office environment

Chaplain/Pastor Volunteer

Job Description:

The chaplain or pastor on call will provide spiritual counseling when desired to victims in our resource center and/or Safe House of Hope.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Because spirituality plays an important role in many people’s lives, The Isabella Nasya Foundation Safe House of Hope and Resource Center has created a Chaplain program to provide spiritual support to those clients that wish to use these services.

The level of spiritual support and care you provide as a Chaplain will depend on your own experience and comfort level as well as your status with our program. We have three levels within this program.

- - - Chaplains have the ability to provide any type of service that an area minister can provide including counseling to individuals.
    - Associate Chaplains have similar abilities to full-fledged chaplains. They have not completed all levels of training. This can include their education from a post-secondary institution, or they have not been fully ordained by a local church. Associate chaplains have the end goal of wanting to offer counseling to our clients.
    - Honorary Chaplains are lay ministers who only wish to provide prayer and spiritual support to our clients.
Job Requirements:

Complete the Volunteer Training Academy
Agree to a minimum time commitment (6 months is preferred)
Have an understanding of required reporting requirements.
Lived experience in historically and intentionally oppressed populations including, but not limited to, the communities served by The Isabella Nasya Foundation is strongly preferred but not required.

Working Environment:

- - Professional, fast-paced office environment.
  - Work schedule is based on open availability as this position is based on emergent and need based cases. We ask that our chaplains be available for some weekdays and be available to work an “on-call” rotation as well.

This is a volunteer position with mileage reimbursement for approved mileage.

Reporting Relationship:

The Chaplain position reports to the Volunteer Coordinator.
